WATH 2020 Conference cancelled

Following the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus and its consequences on public gatherings, the WATH Committee have had to make the difficult decision to cancel our WATH 2020 Conference on Saturday 9th May.

Our priority is ultimately the health and safety of our delegates and those who may be more vulnerable to the effects of the virus. We appreciate how disappointing this can be for all involved – we have been planning the conference since winter 2018 so we hear you!

Please continue to support and encourage one another in these times of uncertainty. It is a very real opportunity to share with those around us our hope that while we may not know what the future holds, we know the One who holds the future.

If you have already booked your conference ticket, we will contact you with your refund as soon as possible.

Thank you for your support of WATH, and let us all continue to follow in His footsteps and shine a light at this time of darkness!

Are you struggling with loneliness in lockdown?

We may be socially distancing but that doesn't mean we can't be creative in finding ways to connect with our community! If you are looking for a way to encourage women in your life, we suggest watching some of the speakers from previous WATH conferences. You can find them on our 'archives' page at www.womenacrossthehighlands.co.uk/archives/.

Why not get in touch with your friends and schedule your own mini WATH conference? Watch the talks online and have a chat (over Zoom or on the phone) with a coffee afterwards to discuss what you've learned. ☕️

Lockdown may still be restricting our physical gatherings, but that doesn't mean to say we can't keep growing together!

How are you adjusting to life in lockdown? Perhaps it is not so very different from your regular life - or maybe it is leaving you feeling overwhelmed by the restrictions in place?

Whatever your feelings on it, we hope and pray that each of us will find our comfort and peace in the hope we have in Jesus, who assures us of his presence with us in John chapter 14: "Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." (John 14:27)

We are currently working on refunding all our ticket holders and you should receive an email confirmation from PayPal in the next few days. Thank you for your patience as we deal with several hundred tickets and transactions!

At WATH2020 we will be considering the theme of following in the footsteps of Jesus. One of our seminars will take the form of discussion panel, hosting a panel of local women from a range of backgrounds and ages, discussing how we each have a role to play in our church.

Being a woman of the church – young, old or anywhere in between – means finding the courage to offer our gifts and humility to serve others in ways seen and unseen.

To book your ticket for Saturday 9th May, visit our website www.womenacrossthehighlands.co.uk and follow the directions. We look forward to these discussions and hope it will encourage all of us in our faith as we live out our role in the church. #wathconf2020 #faithcommunity #sistersinChrist #identity
